Although our tattoos are booked on an appointment basis (Although we will endeavour to fit you in if we have walk-in space), Our piercings are done as a WALK-IN SERVICE.

Before you pop in for a piercing, please note the following:

Before getting a piercing, ensure you’re well-hydrated and have eaten a meal to stabilize blood sugar. Avoid alcohol and blood thinners like aspirin, as they can increase bleeding. Choose comfortable, loose-fitting clothing appropriate for the piercing location and consider tying back long hair. Finally, select a reputable piercing studio with experienced professionals and proper sterilization practices.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
1. Hydration and Nutrition:
    • Eat a meal or snack:

A balanced meal or snack before your appointment helps stabilize blood sugar levels and can prevent dizziness or lightheadedness during or after the piercing.

  • Stay hydrated:

Drink plenty of water in the hours leading up to your appointment to keep your body functioning optimally and feel more at ease.

2. Substance Avoidance:
  • No alcohol:
Avoid alcohol the night before and on the day of your appointment as it can thin your blood and increase bleeding as advised by Piercing HQ.
  • No blood thinners:

Do not take pain relievers like aspirin before your piercing as these can also thin your blood and cause increased bleeding.

3. Clothing and Hygiene:
  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes: Choose clothing that won’t irritate the piercing area or get in the way of the piercing process.
  • Shower or bathe beforehand: This is especially important for piercings below the belt.
  • Remove makeup: If you’re getting a piercing in an area where you normally wear makeup, remove it before your appointment.
4. Choosing a Piercer and Studio:
  • Research and choose a reputable piercer:

Look for a professional piercer with experience, proper training, and a portfolio of their work. All our piercers at Timebomb have gone through several years of training and regularly attend seminars and conventions to keep up with the newest techniques.

  • Check for sterilization practices:

Ensure the studio uses proper sterilization techniques, including autoclaving for jewellery and tools. At Timebomb we use the latest state-of-the-art vaccuum autoclaves and ultrasonics to make sure the jewellery is safe and sterile.

  • Ask questions:

Don’t hesitate to ask the piercer questions about the procedure, aftercare, or any concerns you may have.

5. Preparing Mentally:
  • Bring a friend:

Having a friend for support can be helpful, especially if you’re feeling anxious or lightheaded. Although it is just yourself and the piercer in the piercing studio. Your friend is welcome to wait in our reception area – Please don’t bring an entourage 🙂

  • Consider breathing techniques:
Practicing deep, slow breathing can help calm your nerves and manage any potential pain.
